Terms of Service
The agreement governing your access to and use of Distl and services provided by Insaltix Ltd.
1. Agreement & Overview
These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you and Insaltix Ltd ("Insaltix", "we", "us", or "our"), a company registered in England and Wales under Company Registration Number 17123911, registered office: 20 Wenlock Road, London, England, N1 7GU. Contact: hello@insaltix.com.
By accessing or using Distl (distl.app), you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you must not use the service.
2. The Service & Content Distillation
Distl is a software service designed to help you capture voice notes or written thoughts and distill them into published LinkedIn content.
"Content distillation" means the automated transformation of your speech-to-text transcripts or notes into structured LinkedIn posts, articles, multi-slide document carousels, and visual assets.
3. Accounts & Acceptable Use
You must be at least 18 years old to use Distl. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity on your account.
You agree not to use Distl for any unlawful purpose, to upload material you do not have rights to use, to generate defamatory or infringing content, or to attempt to probe, bypass, or interfere with the platform's security, rate limits, or credit allowances.
4. Content Ownership & Licenses
- Your Content: You retain full ownership and intellectual property rights in the notes, voice inputs, and ideas you provide to Distl.
- Generated Outputs: Subject to your compliance with these Terms, Insaltix Ltd assigns to you all rights, title, and interest (if any) in the LinkedIn posts, articles, carousels, and visual assets generated for your account, to the extent permitted by law.
- License to Distl: You grant Insaltix Ltd a limited license solely to host, process, and transmit your content as necessary to provide and operate the service. We do not use your proprietary inputs to train public foundational AI models.
5. AI Outputs, Human Review & Sole User Responsibility
Distl uses automated artificial intelligence tools. Generated outputs are probabilistic and may occasionally contain factual errors, inaccuracies, or unexpected phrasing.
Distl is designed strictly with human review in mind. You retain complete editorial control and final decision-making authority over all content. You are solely and exclusively responsible for reviewing, verifying, editing, and approving all transcripts, posts, carousels, articles, and images before publishing them or using them for any purpose.
Neither Distl nor Insaltix Ltd shall have any liability whatsoever for the accuracy, legality, appropriateness, or consequences of any content generated, edited, or approved through the service.
6. Subscriptions, Credits & Billing
Distl operates on recurring subscription plans and credit allocations. Subscriptions are billed in advance on a recurring monthly or annual basis via our payment processor, Stripe. All payment processing, invoicing, payment method updates, and billing disputes are managed through Stripe.
Statutory 14-Day Cooling-Off Period (UK & EU Consumers): If you are a consumer residing in the United Kingdom or the European Union, you have the right to cancel your initial subscription within 14 days of purchase without giving any reason. If you expressly request and access Distl or utilize AI distillation credits during this 14-day period, you agree that an amount proportionate to the services and credits consumed may be deducted from any refund. All refund requests are administered and settled via Stripe.
7. Social Media Publishing & Zero Liability for Posts
When you connect your LinkedIn account or publish content to any platform, Distl acts purely as a technical tool executing actions at your direct instruction. You remain the sole author and legal publisher of all posted materials.
Neither Distl nor Insaltix Ltd is liable or responsible whatsoever for what you post, share, or distribute on LinkedIn, other social media platforms, or anywhere on the web using Distl. We do not preview, endorse, moderate, or assume any responsibility for your published posts, articles, or carousels.
You are solely responsible for ensuring your posts comply with applicable laws, third-party platform terms, and professional standards, and you bear full responsibility for any disputes, regulatory actions, or claims resulting from your published content.
8. Third-Party Trademarks & Brand Ownership
All third-party trademarks, service marks, logos, trade names, and brand assets displayed or referenced on the Distl website, landing page, or applications are the property of their respective owners. Insaltix Ltd claims no ownership, copyright, or trademark rights in any third-party brands.
Specifically: LinkedIn and the LinkedIn logos are registered trademarks of LinkedIn Corporation and Microsoft Corporation. X (formerly Twitter) is a trademark of X Corp. Instagram and Facebook are trademarks of Meta Platforms, Inc. TikTok is a trademark of ByteDance Ltd. YouTube and Google are trademarks of Google LLC. Apple, the Apple logo, iPhone, iOS, and App Store are trademarks of Apple Inc. Google Play and Android are trademarks of Google LLC.
Our display of these trademarks is strictly for nominative identification and reference purposes and does not imply endorsement, sponsorship, or commercial affiliation.
9. Cancellation & Termination
You may cancel your subscription at any time via your billing account settings or the Stripe Customer Portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period (monthly or annual), and you will retain access to Distl until that date. No partial or prorated refunds are issued for unused periods of an active billing cycle after the statutory cooling-off period has elapsed.
You may permanently delete your account at any time via in-app settings. Deleting your account terminates your active Stripe subscription immediately so that no future billing cycles or renewal charges will occur.
We may suspend or terminate your account if you materially breach these Terms.
10. Limitation of Liability & Indemnity
To the maximum extent permitted by English law, Distl is provided "as is" and without warranties of any kind. Neither Insaltix Ltd nor its directors, employees, or operators shall be liable under any circumstances for any content posted, shared, or distributed by users on LinkedIn, any social media network, or the web.
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Insaltix Ltd against any third-party claims, liabilities, damages, losses, or legal expenses arising out of or related to content you post or distribute using Distl, or from your breach of these Terms.
Our total aggregate liability for any direct claim arising from these Terms or your use of Distl shall not exceed the fees you paid to us in the preceding 12 months (or £50 if using a free trial). These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
